The power of Telekinesis

Before the debut Telekinesis album comes out, the first video for the song “Tokyo,” directed by Dianna Potter has just arrived. I got the chance to briefly speak with the mastermind of Telekinesis, Michael Benjamin Lerner, and we discussed him teaming up with another Seattlite, Death Cab for Cutie‘s own Chris Walla. “Chris already produced the full length record. We made it in September of 2008. It was a lot of fun, and it should be release in early April if all goes according to plan! So keep your eyes and ears peeled for that!” Since our talk he has signed to Merge Records and Telekinesis! is set to release on April 7th. He’s also been busy at work touring with the likes of Ra Ra Riot (soon to be on tour with Death Cab and Cold War Kids), Cut Off Your Hands, and Say Hi. I’ve been listening to this band for a number of months playing “Coast of Carolina” on repeat for long durations of time. The sounds slingshot and boomerang back to my heart. Order the album early on March 7th from Merge.
