I’ve been a big fan of Thao Nguyen recently. I found a few of her tracks on a Daytrotter session from April ’08. Investigating said songs wouldn’t be a bad thing…
Nguyen can be more often found playing in Thao with The Get Down Stay Down, her band based out of San Fransisco, CA. Joining her in The Get Down Stay Down are Willis Thompson on drums and Adam Thompson (of The OK Bird) on bass and “bird noises”. The band released “We Brave Bee Stings and All” in 2008 from Kill Rock Stars. The album is availible on the band’s website or iTunes.
